Brookline Community Aging Network – BrooklineCAN – gets things done through education, advocacy, and social connection.
1. Advocacy and action: help build a stronger community for all by getting involved in issues facing pedestrians, by developing and maintaining listings of services and facilities especially valued by older residents, by working to add amenities to parks and public spaces, or by pursuing other livability issues that matter to you.
2. Educational forums offer opportunities to explore topics such as trends in elder care, driving decisions for seniors, home design changes, and substance use by older adults.
3. Find contractors: We keep an updated list of the best plumbers, electricians, painters, home contractors, computer support technicians, and others recommended by members. We check licenses, insurance, and references.
4. Monthly newsletters announce classes, events, activities, and programs of interest, including upcoming BrooklineCAN programs. Newsletters and a wide range of useful information are available on this website.
